Upgrade Procedures Ver. 9.0.0.xx
1. Preparation
(IMPORTANT: Before beginning upgrade)

A. Make sure you have sufficient Free Space on the server where the databases are located

(at least twice the size of the databases).

B. Verify that all users are logged out, Close ALL Pentagon applications

and STOP all Pentagon services that are running.

C. Make sure you have full BACKUP of ALL Pentagon Databases.


NOTE: This sample uses the fallowing Pentagon directory names:

P2000SQL_64 (for 64bit files)
P2000SQL_32 (for 32bit files)
2. Download the New Build Version
Download the application files from ftp://ftp.pentagon2000.com/
and select the version set as CURRENT and download the latest build zip files both x64 and x86.

3. Setting up Pentagon directories for upgrade
A. Create a New folder called OLD in both P2000SQL_64 and P2000SQL_32 directories.

B. Move ALL Files from each directory (Do Not move any folders) to the OLD folder respectively

EXCEPT the INI and the XML files. Important, leave all INI and XML files as they are.

C. Move the zip file you downloaded in each directory respectively

D. EXTRACT the zip files in each directory respectively.

4. Start Upgrading
NOTE: Running the Upgrade should be done from the P2000SQL_64 directory.

A. From P2000SQL_64 folder run the UtilityManager64.exe

B. From the top menu Select Upgrade; then select ‘Update DB Connections’.

C. Login with your “sa” and your SQL password, and verify the database names;
5. Run the Upgrade
A. Click on Upgrade top menu and run Pre Upgrade and Execute.

B. Click on Upgrade Current and run the upgrade. When upgrade is done Click on done.

C. Click on Upgrade top menu again and run Post Upgrade and Execute.

D. IMPORTANT: Now Make sure to start the Pentagon Service

This completes the upgrade. You are now ready to use Pentagon.
